Inorganic solid waste collection
$170,000 per annum
Getting
rid of rubbish not picked up by the waste collection companies can
sometimes be a problem, especially if you're not able to take it
to a transfer station.
A solution is to provide an annual inorganic solid
waste collection where residents can leave unwanted items at the
kerbside. Often your unwanted items, like old fridges and furniture,
are another person's treasure and other people in the community
may take your 'rubbish' away before it can be officially collected.
An option is to run this as an 'exchange week' where residents can
help themselves to the unwanted items, with anything remaining at
the kerbside removed at the end of the week.
The cost of providing a collection service will be
$170,000 a year.
